Reflection

    Thank You's

Although this reflection is last, it is not the least important. I would never have completed this learning process without the help and support of so many others.

I am fortunate to work with some incredibly talented people at the Innovative Technology Center. I thank Cyndy Edmonds, Joan Thomas, and Susannah Finley, our visual design team, for evaluating the look and feel of my ePortfolio in the early stages. I also thank Kathleen Bennett and Jake Sumners, in the instructional design team, for letting me use them as sounding boards when I needed to talk. They lent their support during the entire three year process.

I have three wonderful faculty members on my Master’s Committee. I need to thank Dr. Ed Counts for introducing me to the fascinating world of multimedia. His positive teaching style allowed me to explore my creative side which I often ignore as a programmer. His words of encouragement during this process were needed on many an occasion. Dr. Jay Pfaffman was the first professor to start me thinking about organizing all my work into a portfolio, setting the ground work for the end product you see today. His relaxed teaching style encouraged me to do more, to ask more, to think more. That’s a good thing! Dr. Blanche O’Bannon is the third member of my committee. Her class was my very first when I started back to school three years ago. Her professionalism in the classroom is a model I hope to emulate. This first class was crucial to my decision to continue with my education. Thank you. Dr. O’Bannon is also my advisor and always had faith in me that I would accomplish this goal. Her door was always open when I needed to discuss course work and class schedules.

And of course I must publicly thank my family and friends for their unending support. I plan to make up for the missed outings, the less than clean house, and the late fast-food dinners. Thank you to my husband and son for believing in me and supporting me. I must add a special thanks to my husband, John. For all the times you went out just to give me some quiet time at home to study – thank you. For all the times you made me hot tea and brought me a candy bar while I was knee deep in paperwork – thank you. For all those leftover meals you had waiting for me after I returned home from a late night class – thank you. For proofreading my papers over and over and over - thank you.

I am very blessed!
