Treasure Hunt .: IT575 - Internet:Implications for Teaching and Learning Treasure Hunt

Assignment: Using lessons learned in this course on the guidelines for an inquiry activity, Web site design and development, and HTML code, design and develop an inquiry oriented Web-based learning activity. (Fall 2003)

Project: The 'Christmas Around the World' website is an example of a treasure hunt. Students are required to visit 10 web sites chosen by me and to read the information on those pages in order to answer 10 questions. By participating in this assignment, students will gain the knowledge and appreciation for how differently Christmas is celebrated around the world. A final question requires students to reflect on what they have learned. This activity is geared for Middle School students, grades 6 through 8.

You can experience the Christmas Treasure Hunt at http://web.utk.edu/~dcarnduf/tech575/.
